Amazon Product Opportunity Explorer Design Internship
Overview
During my internship at Amazon, I worked on Opportunity Explorer (OX) within the Seller Growth team, designing solutions that help sellers evaluate potential profitability before launching new products. I collaborated closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to translate complex marketplace data into clear, actionable insights for sellers. Through this work, I strengthened my ability to design data-driven experiences, communicate tradeoffs across cross-functional partners, and contribute to scalable tools that directly support seller decision-making and business growth.
My Roles
UX Design Lead: I established the design system, led feedback sessions, and received guidance on visual design to balance between data-driven functionality and visual craft.
User Testing Manager/Archivist: I created multiple wireframes to capture and review data from heuristic evaluations and usability tests, converting key findings into artifacts and visuals.
At the end of my internship, I had the opportunity to have my work presented at Amazon's annual seller conference which is an incredibly rewarding experience to share my work with current Amazon sellers to make their selling experience insightful and impactful:

REFLECTION
Clear communication drives trust and momentum.
As the only intern on the team, I saw firsthand how much impact clear, consistent communication can have. Through regular check-ins, open documentation, and thoughtful sharing of my work, I was able to build credibility, surface roadblocks early, and stay aligned with teammates across multiple services.
Scalable design starts with diving deep into complexity.
Working on Opportunity Explorer showed me the importance of understanding the technical and data-heavy foundations behind user-facing tools. By designing for edge cases across seller scenarios, marketplace constraints, and profitability insights, I helped shape ambiguous problems to clear decision-making solutions that balance simplicity with technical accuracy.
Design doesn’t end at handoff.
Design doesn’t end at handoff. Seeing how my work translated from sketches and prototypes into the final product taught me to think beyond visuals and anticipate how designs function in real-world systems. I learned to adapt to unexpected changes and create solutions that balance user needs with technical and business realities.
